Stand-alone Journal Entry

Go to FINANCE (Menu) > Journal Entry (Sub-menu) > Journal Entry

Blank Journal Entry page with some default values will be displayed in MAIN tab.

To create new stand-alone Journal Entry:

  1. On Journal Entry page, search for a currency by clicking the magnifying glass next to Currency input field. You may enter any value to filter the search or just leave it blank to search all. Then click the search button on the right side. This action will prompt the system to initiate the search process.

  2. After clicking the search button, all results are displayed below the Currency search criteria. Select from search results.

  3. The Currency search page will be automatically closed, and the selected Currency is loaded in the Journal Entry page. Also notice that some information (e.g. Exchange Rate) will be inherited from the currency into the journal entry.

  4. On item table, search for an account number by clicking the magnifying glass next to Account Number input field. You may enter any value to filter the search or just leave it blank to search all. Then click the search button on the right side. This action will prompt the system to initiate the search process.

  5. After clicking the search button, all results are displayed below the Account Number search criteria. Select from search results.

  6. The Chart of Account search page will be automatically closed, and the selected Account Number is loaded in the Journal Entry page.

  7. User must enter either Debit or Credit amount value. User can only enter either one of the two amounts per line. If the user entered a debit amount on first line, the next line should have a corresponding credit amount with the same amount value.

  8. Search for department by clicking the magnifying glass next to Department input field. You may enter any value to filter the search or just leave it blank to search all. Then click the search button on the right side. This action will prompt the system to initiate the search process.

  9. After clicking the search button, all results are displayed below the Department Code search criteria. Select from search results.

  10. The Department search page will be automatically closed, and the selected Department is loaded in the Journal Entry page.

  11. User may provide other optional fields. Once done, click on Save to create new Journal Entry in draft status.
